Engineering Specialist -
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with gear machining processes, manufacturing engineering, PPAP documentation, root cause analysis, and process optimization.
ResponsibilitiesSupport gear machining manufacturing processes and launch activitiesDrive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and throughputComplete PPAP quality launch documentation and process auditsDevelop and improve manufacturing processes using engineering and analytical techniquesLead corrective actions, root cause analysis, and process improvementsCreate process instructions and manufacturing documentationSupport Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and variability reduction initiativesEnsure compliance with ISO 14001, environmental, and corporate manufacturing standardsIdentify production constraints and implement corrective solutions to improve performanceCollaborate with suppliers, launch teams, and manufacturing operationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum 5 years of manufacturing or process engineering experienceStrong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and manufacturing process improvementExperience with PPAP, FMEA, DOE, CAPA, 8D, and 5 Why methodologiesStrong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsExperience with gear machining, powertrain manufacturing, or automotive production preferredPreferred SkillsHypoid bevel gear machining processesQuality assessment tools such as QDAS and MinitabGleason Nano Gear CMM and Klingelnberg P40 experienceLean tools including 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, and Value Stream MappingSix Sigma and

This role focuses on gear machining process engineering, production launch support, lean manufacturing, and quality improvement within a high-volume powertrain manufacturing environment.The ideal candidate will have strong experience with gear machining processes, manufacturing engineering, PPAP documentation, root cause analysis, and process optimization.
