Identify and implement opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, cycle time, setup time, downtime, labor content, process variation, outside processing, and manufacturing cost while improving process flow and capacity. Participate in capital equipment selection, justification, installation, qualification, and implementation; support make-vs.-buy, insourcing, supplier/process changes, automation, and new manufacturing technology as appropriate.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics, Biomedical, Electrical, or a related engineering field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Associate's degree in a related technical field with relevant manufacturing engineering experience may be considered. Experience in manufacturing process development, production support, or continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of statistical methods such as SPC, process capability, sampling, or DOE; ability to use manufacturing data to identify root causes and verify improvements. Experience with process development, characterization, qualification, or validation; regulated manufacturing experience is preferred. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications; experience using CAD software and developing tooling or fixtures is preferred. Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes such as machining, welding, assembly, forming, fabrication, or related precision manufacturing methods. Strong technical documentation and communication skills, including the ability to author procedures, reports, validation documentation, and training materials. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and work effectively across Production, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams. Experience with PFMEA, control plans, process risk management, capital equipment implementation, or manufacturing cost analysis is preferred. Experience with automation, controls, PLCs, robotics, machine connectivity, CNC manufacturing, or automated inspection is a plus depending on assigned role. Hands-on machining, prototyping, fixture fabrication, or equipment troubleshooting experience is a plus.
