Job Description

Description We're looking for a hands-on, practical Sr. Manufacturing Engineer who knows their way around a production floor and enjoys solving real-world problems. In this role, you'll own the performance, design, and flow of manufacturing processes across all Custom Profile locations. You aren't just sitting behind a desk; you'll be responsible for everything from specifying and buying new equipment to figuring out line layouts and keeping our existing machinery running at its best. If you love optimizing how things are made and don't mind getting your hands dirty to do it, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Actually Do Day-to-Day:
Support manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams with fast, practical troubleshooting. Partner with maintenance on PM schedules. You'll manage our equipment inventory—knowing exactly what we have, what's interchangeable, and when parts like screws and barrels need measuring or replacing. Figure out line and plant layouts for new product launches, facility changes, and equipment moves between plants. Specify, buy, and test new equipment (extruders, punch presses, pullers, tanks, saws) to ensure it hits our safety, performance, and dimension standards before it goes live. Work with management to plan for equipment upgrades and phase out obsolete machinery. Investigate new tech that can make us faster, safer, and more cost-effective. Mentor others in design-for-manufacturing practices and champion a clean, organized (5S) workspace. Requirements 8-10 years in Manufacturing or Process Engineering (or a solid mix of education and equivalent on-the-floor experience). A background in plant equipment maintenance and purchasing. A strong, hands-on approach to problem-solving. You like figuring out how things work and how to fix them. Solid blueprint reading skills, strong math skills, clear communication, and comfort using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to think strategically and lead projects/teams confidently. We want someone who brings a great attitude and wants to help make our plants a better, more efficient, and enjoyable place to work. Ready to apply? Send over your resume and let's talk.
