Job Description

The Underbody Process Engineering Group Lead - Machining is responsible for leading Manufacturing Engineering functions for powertrain/propulsion programs. Their primary role is to guide their Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet all objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for both new model (NM), non-new model (NNM), and adaptation programs.

Main responsibilities include:

Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studiesOversee engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ's), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of manufacturing equipmentManage and prioritize the Non-New Model (NNM) powertrain programs requests and ensure that approved programs are completed on time and within budgetManage all New Model (NM) program's facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installationLead activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)Lead their team in the implementation of SIS (Stellantis Industrial System) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced SIS tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risksDevelopment/improvement of process and equipment standards related to manufacturing engineeringSupport the Propulsion Manufacturing Plants located in Kokomo Indiana while maintaining a relationship with the North American and Global CoC initiativesDrive standardization across plants in all regionsLead procurement, design, build, install, qualification and launch of facilities and process supporting equipment and infrastructureSupport Stellantis Industrial System initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical equivalentMinimum FIVE (5) years manufacturing experienceMinimum THREE (3) years' experience in program management or multi-tasking environmentMust be able to work and interact with all levels of the organizationMust have strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skillsAbility to analyze, interpret and present data to all levels of the company in easily understandable formatsAbility to implement SIS principles (or similar) and ability to lead effectively in a bargaining unit environmentHigh demonstration of leadership and teamwork characteristicsAbility to embrace cross-functional teams responsible for developing, specifying, building, and launching powertrain manufacturing processesDemonstrated abilities to plan and execute large scale projects in time and budgetAbility to effectively lead, teach, coach and mentor employeesStrong leadership skills with the ability to build and develop the best teamsProficient with Microsoft toolsFlexibility to work all shiftsDaily, weekend and holiday availabilityFlexibility to work at off-site locationsInternational travel required, US passport or equivalent requiredKnowledge of advanced problem-solving skills and ability to manage dataAnalysis to identify root causes and attack them to closureKnowledge of cost studies and strategic planning a plusMicrosoft Office PowerPoint and Excel intermediate or advance knowledge
