Manufacturing Engineer Job Description We are seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer who will play a crucial role in the design and production process. The ideal candidate will review and evaluate design drawings and models to ensure they meet all manufacturing requirements, conduct cost analyses, support manufacturing readiness activities, and collaborate on new product innovations. Responsibilities Review and evaluate design drawings and models to ensure they include all critical information required for manufacturing, such as weld, bend, and tooling requirements and specifications. Conduct cost analyses and partner with Product Engineering and Manufacturing to execute cost-saving design optimizations. Support manufacturing readiness activities, including DFM/DFA reviews, pilot builds, NPI, and transition to production. Collaborate on new innovative products, enhancements, or technologies to meet market needs. Work with suppliers to coordinate prototype builds and ensure design expectations are met. Ensure designs meet structural, safety, and ergonomic requirements. Review all documentation for design feasibility and accuracy. Conduct design reviews to meet required specifications and manufacturability requirements. Develop work/assembly instructions. Provide technical assistance to others as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills 5+ years of experience in an engineering design environment. BS in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or related engineering field. 2+ years of experience in design of consumer or industrial products (electro-mechanical and mechanical), including NPI. Clear understanding of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal, welding, casework, injection molding, extrusion, and casting. Proficient in CAD/CAM software, with required SolidWorks experience and preferred AutoCAD experience. Knowledge of engineering practices and documentation methods. Collaborative working style that thrives in a cross-functional team environment. Self-motivated, creative, and capable of handling and prioritizing multiple projects. High degree of accuracy and sense of urgency. Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated by past work experience and/or hobbies. Excellent problem-solving skills. Software skills, including Microsoft Office and Product Data Management (PDM) system. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using SolidWorks PDM and ERP/MRP software. Experience with configurable or custom-engineered products. Experience supporting low-to-mid volume, high-mix manufacturing. Work Environment This position requires working onsite in Eagan. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and open culture that encourages cooperation and collaboration. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Eagan, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $48.07/hr.
