Viracon LLC Manufacturing Engineering Intern, 2027
Location:
Viracon, Owatonna, MN Pay:
$23.00-$25.00 per hour About Viracon Viracon is a leading architectural glass manufacturer in Owatonna, Minnesota. Our products are used in some of the most recognizable buildings across the country, and our manufacturing teams work every day to deliver innovative, high-quality glass solutions. About the Internship Viracon is seeking Manufacturing Engineering Interns for 2027 who are currently pursuing an engineering degree and want a hands-on experience in a real manufacturing environment. This internship provides hands-on lab and production experience, mentorship from industry experts, and the opportunity to contribute to the next generation of Viracon products. Interns will work closely with engineering and production teams and spend significant time on the manufacturing floor. What You'll Do- Work alongside manufacturing engineers and production teams on real projects
- Spend time on the manufacturing floor learning processes, equipment, and operations
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues
- Collect and analyze production data
- Support process improvement, equipment, tooling, and layout projects
- Assist with time studies, process documentation, and work instructions
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Help implement engineering solutions and see projects through to completion What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree at a 4-year college or university in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing at the time of the internship
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Interest in manufacturing and hands-on engineering work
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, production, maintenance, and quality teams
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and spending time on the production floor
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative What You'll Gain
