Job Description

Electronics Manufacturing Engineer develop and qualify SMT and soldering processes while leading prototype-to-production builds, documentation, and yield/cost optimization across cross-functional teams. Job Requirements Experience applying Design for Manufacturability/Design for Test (DFM/DFT) and broader DFx principles by reviewing schematics, layouts, and Gerber files Experience developing, validating, and documenting manufacturing processes for: SMT pick-and-place and reflow Selective soldering and wave soldering AOI and X-ray inspection Conformal coating and electronic assembly Experience implementing process controls and driving control improvements Experience running prototype and pilot builds, including initial builds, defect troubleshooting, and process optimization prior to full production Experience documenting build results, including run reports and action-item summaries, and feeding issues back to design for DFx improvements Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation: work instructions, panel designs, in-line test procedures, BOMs, and ECOs Experience leading teams and managing implementation projects Preferred Skills Experience troubleshooting solder defects and functional failures using AOI, X-ray, and test data Experience with new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp support Experience with yield improvement, cost reduction, and reliability improvement initiatives Experience collaborating with Hardware, Test, Quality, and Materials functions during product introduction Job Responsibilities Review schematics, PCB layouts, and Gerber files to identify manufacturability/testability risks early and recommend DFx improvements Develop, qualify, and document manufacturing processes for SMT, selective/wave soldering, AOI/X-ray inspection, conformal coating, and final assembly Define and implement process controls; monitor results and drive control improvements Plan and execute prototype and pilot builds; support training for production associates on new or updated processes Troubleshoot build issues including solder defects, assembly issues, and functional failures; implement corrective actions and optimize processes before production release Create and maintain work instructions, panel designs, in-line test procedures, BOMs, and ECO documentation Lead implementation projects supporting equipment/process introduction, line changes, and production readiness Partner with Hardware, Test, Quality, and Materials teams to support product introduction and resolve cross-functional issues Drive yield, cost, and reliability improvements through continuous improvement initiatives and operational performance analysis
Pay:
