Job Description

Job Title:

Engineering Project CoordinatorJob Description The Engineering Project Coordinator provides organizational and timeline management support to the engineering function, ensuring that equipment and facility calibrations, validations, qualifications, repairs, deviations, and CAPAs are planned and executed effectively. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to align engineering activities with corporate objectives and milestones, supporting both the existing product portfolio and the development of new products. The coordinator assesses resources and timelines to identify obstacles that could impact milestone achievement, provides oversight of engineering project schedules, and adapts to evolving departmental and organizational needs by taking on additional duties as required. Responsibilities

+ Organize and manage activities related to deviation and CAPA execution, ensuring that corrective and preventive actions are tracked, documented, and completed in alignment with engineering and quality requirements.

+ Coordinate equipment calibration, qualification, and validation schedules for facilities and equipment, maintaining clear timelines and documentation to support regulatory and operational needs.

+ Develop, maintain, and monitor engineering project plans and timelines, using project planning tools and creative approaches to meet departmental and company objectives.

+ Organize and manage work assignments for one-off and special engineering projects, tracking progress to ensure that all project deliverables are completed on time and within scope.

+ Provide strategic input to project teams to improve efficiency, timeliness, and overall project success, including identifying risks, assessing their impact, and adjusting timelines and forecasts on a regular basis.

+ Create and maintain documentation that supports project reviews in accordance with the corporate stage-gate review structure, ensuring that project status and key decisions are clearly captured.

+ Escalate significant project-related issues to team leadership or other appropriate stakeholders when risks, delays, or obstacles could impact major milestones or deliverables.

+ Serve as the single point of contact for assigned project deliverables and related activities, facilitating communication between engineering and cross-functional partners.

+ Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and document current- and future-state gaps in projects and budgets as they relate to achieving company milestones, and support efforts to address those gaps.

+ Support existing product lines and new product development initiatives by aligning engineering timelines and activities with broader corporate goals and major milestone plans.

+ Adapt to changing departmental and organizational priorities by performing other duties as assigned by management to support engineering and corporate objectives. Essential Skills

+ At least 2 years of experience in project management and team leadership in a regulated or technical environment.

+ At least 2 years of experience with medical or pharmaceutical product requirements, regulated industries, or clinical development environments.

+ Experience in engineering project management and coordination, including planning and tracking technical activities.

+ Understanding of engineering processes and documentation, including equipment calibration, validation, qualification, and CAPA-related workflows.

+ Proficiency with project planning software such as Microsoft Project or equivalent tools for scheduling and resource management.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for documentation, reporting, and presentations.

+ An understanding of contracting, finance, budgeting, and general business operations as they relate to project and portfolio management.

+ Ability to assess project-related risks, identify obstacles, and adjust timelines and forecasts to maintain project momentum.

+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, and stakeholder expectations simultaneously.

+ Effective communication skills to serve as a single point of contact for project deliverables and to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelors degree in engineering is preferred; a four-year degree in a related field is also suitable.

+ Certification in project management, such as PMP or an equivalent credential, is preferred.

+ Experience in biotechnology project management is preferred.

+ Work history with medical or pharmaceutical products, or in regulated or clinical development environments, is preferred.

+ Experience with Planisware or equivalent budgeting and finance tools is preferred.

+ Familiarity with medical device or microbiome-related products and therapeutic areas is beneficial.

+ Ability to contribute strategic input to project teams and support corporate stage-gate review processes.

+ Comfort working in cross-functional settings that may include engineering, quality, operations, and other technical disciplines. Work Environment This role is based in a clean, modern facility that is currently expanding, offering a professional and well-equipped office environment. The Engineering Project Coordinator works closely with all engineering functional teams in this area, collaborating across disciplines to support product and project activities. Standard working hours follow a typical 9-to-5 schedule, providing predictable daytime work. The dress code is business casual, supporting a professional yet comfortable atmosphere. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
