Manufacturing Engineer BMF Metal Fabrication is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our engineering and production operations. This position will help turn customer drawings, models, and specifications into accurate, production-ready information for the shop. This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role for someone who is comfortable working with CAD, solving manufacturing problems, and working directly with production personnel. The ideal candidate has experience in a metal fabrication environment and understands how engineering decisions affect manufacturability, quality, cost, and production efficiency. Key Responsibilities Review customer drawings, CAD files, models, and specifications. Create and modify SolidWorks models, manufacturing drawings, DXF files, and sheet metal flat patterns . Review parts for manufacturability and identify potential issues before they reach production. Prepare and maintain job routings, bills of material, work instructions, and other production documentation. Assist with CNC programming and nesting for laser cutting and related equipment. Verify drawing revisions, materials, quantities, dimensions, and other job requirements. Work directly with shop personnel to resolve drawing, programming, fit-up, and manufacturing issues. Support engineering changes and maintain accurate production files and documentation. Assist estimating, purchasing, quality, and production with technical questions as needed. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing methods, material utilization, quality, and efficiency. Help develop and maintain consistent engineering and manufacturing standards. Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following areas is especially valuable: SolidWorks Auto CAD / DraftSight Striker Systems CAD/CAM or other nesting software Sheet metal fabrication CNC laser cutting and nesting Press brake forming Welding and fabricated assemblies Machining Manufacturing ERP systems Preparing routers, bills of material, work instructions, or other production documentation An associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred but not required . Relevant hands-on manufacturing experience may be considered in place of a degree.
