Job Description

Elite Technical is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our client's growing composites design and manufacturing team. This role will support the design, development, and improvement of high-performance components and systems used in maritime defense applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD design, a passion for engineering innovation, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and modify 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using CAD software
  • Design components and assemblies in accordance with project requirements and industry standards
  • Develop BOM-s and specify material requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and project management
  • Support prototype development, testing, and procedure development
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including drawings, revisions, and technical reports
  • Identify opportunities for design improvements and cost efficiencies This opportunity is a full-time direct position with our client, offering career growth, stability and a generous benefits package.   • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2 years of CAD design experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software
  • Experience with additional CAD software (e.g., NX, AutoCAD, CATIA, Inventor) is a plus
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or manufacturing industries
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Knowledge of industry standards and compliance requirements (e.g., ASME, ISO)
  • Experience working with product data management software such as SolidWorks PDM
