Job Title:
Manufacturing Engineer 1 Job Description We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer 1 who will develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes for manufacturing parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. This role involves conducting tests throughout all production stages to control applicable variables and troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing problems of moderate scope and complexity. You will design the sequence of production operations, specify procedures for tool and equipment fabrication, and adapt machinery as needed. Collaboration with product design engineering to optimize technical specifications is essential, as is estimating manufacturing costs, determining time standards, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing methods, operation sequences, and processes. Conduct tests throughout production to control variables and troubleshoot manufacturing issues. Design production operations, specifying procedures for tooling and equipment fabrication. Collaborate with product design engineering on technical specifications and manufacturing techniques. Estimate manufacturing costs and determine time standards. Ensure compliance with production processes and procedures. Maintain records and reporting systems for manufacturing operations coordination. Develop documentation of findings and implemented solutions, communicating results to staff. Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. Observe all relevant laws, regulations, and obligations in business conduct. Work safely according to established procedures and practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred (Bachelor's in Welding Engineering also accepted) or equivalent manufacturing engineering experience. 0-1 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, welding, and fabrication. Basic understanding of manufacturing engineering concepts, principles, and theory. Ability to follow and apply basic engineering knowledge and adapt standard techniques. Understanding of laser tracking equipment (CMM, Faro) and measuring equipment. Proficiency in SolidWorks (AutoCAD accepted but SolidWorks preferred). Additional Skills & Qualifications Design experience, including tooling design, fixtures design, and work instructions. Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in an evolving environment. Good communication, computer, and interpersonal skills for effective interfacing with other professionals. Ability to produce appropriate documentation and present results to a limited internal audience. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Capability to work extended hours as required. Ability to acquire and maintain security clearance. Work Environment This position is based onsite at the Tupelo, Mississippi Facility, working with the Manufacturing Weld team in the shop. Standard work hours are 5:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, with some overtime and weekend work required based on product shipment needs. The team values individuals who complete work correctly the first time, operate within budget, and are passionate about their work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shannon, MS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.40 - $61.05/hr.
