Equipment Development Job Summary:

Plan, direct, and support manufacturing processes and personnel in a CNC machining environment. Research and resolve production problems, establish and implement standard requirements for equipment, tooling, and methods. Determine best utilization of equipment, material, and personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Development and Implementation Develop and implement new production equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities. Ensure equipment meets production requirements and safety standards. Documentation and Accuracy Maintain accurate work instructions, routings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and reflects current processes. Process Improvement Drive process improvements focused on cost reduction, quality, and safety. Utilize lean manufacturing tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 6S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma to enhance operations.

Required Qualifications:

B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge of Auto-Cad, Pro-E, or Solid-Works design software, Word Processing, Spreadsheet and Project Management software. Knowledge of CNC machine tools, programming, controls, and capabilities. Knowledge of cutting tools, work-holding, and fixturing methods. Skilled in manufacturing process review/development. Strong understanding of lean process improvements. Work with integrity and uphold organizational values. Develop strategies to achieve organizational goals. Physical Requirements:

Routinely lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception. Routinely reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Frequently required to stand and walk. Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide engineering support to business/production unit. Develop, evaluate, design and improve manufacturing methods, materials and tooling. Analyze, plan, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Quote internal and external business opportunities. Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Estimate production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
