CORE FUNCTIONS

Lead DTV and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives to optimize existing product designs, reduce costs, and improve overall product value. Analyze product designs, materials, components, and manufacturing processes to identify cost reduction and product simplification opportunities. Develop innovative design solutions utilizing CAD and other engineering tools to improve product functionality, manufacturability, quality, and cost competitiveness. Apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles to simplify product designs, reduce complexity, and improve manufacturing efficiency. Partner with Product Management, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to evaluate alternative materials, components, suppliers, and manufacturing technologies. Prioritize and execute product improvement opportunities based on business impact, technical feasibility, and customer requirements. Collaborate with Quality teams to analyze warranty claims, product failures, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for design improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 5 or more years of hands-on product design experience Lean or similar continuous improvement knowledge and experience preferred Software experience:

CAD/CAM, Microsoft Office Suite, ERP Software Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge Active Listening:
