Job Description

Job Overview The Lean Specialist will focus on continuous improvement efforts for the site, including being responsible for the ongoing development and improvement of the Hubbell Manufacturing System. This includes leading Kaizen and other Lean events as business needs shows which invovle improvement in material flow, labor structure, facility layout, maintenance, and expenses to grow profitability by improving operations overall. This position is accountable for improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and people. The Lean Specialistis responsible for manufacturing process improvements, identifies opportunities for cost reduction, lead-time reduction, inventory reduction, and quality improvement. A Day In The Life Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by: Leader in the development and sustainment of the Hubbell Manufacturing System for the site. Facilitating and overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of waste reduction (i.e., LEAN) initiatives through formal Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) Events. Driving a LEAN culture throughout the facility - promoting, encouraging, and coaching. Employing the use of LEAN tools and methodologies to drive improvement initiatives. Developing training materials pertaining to LEAN methodologies, customized where applicable for the site. Creating and implementing a LEAN training regimen for both salaried and hourly associates. Developing, tracking, and reporting on metrics measuring the success derived from Kaizen events. Designing and optimizing manufacturing processes for the improvement of existing products and the introduction of new ones. Assisting site Process and Manufacturing Engineers in the inspection and analysis of equipment, processes, and operational procedures to determine opportunities to increase productivity, minimize cost, and/or to enhance product quality. Attending pertinent industry and/or corporate sponsored LEAN training and seminars. What will help you thrive in this role? Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field 10+ years of manufacturing shop floor and CIP experience (required) 10-15 years of leadership experience (required) True passion and drive for operational excellence gained via LEAN principles Excellent knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles and methodologies Demonstrate success in leading and executing Kaizen/CIP events across various areas of manufacturing Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification preferred Manufacturing/Process/Project Engineer experience prior to CIP experience preferred Hubbell Incorporated Hubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
