As an Advanced Lead Manufacturing Engineer for CMC components, you will blend deep technical expertise, hands‑on process ownership, and cross‑functional leadership to deliver hardware that thrives in some of the harshest conditions in aerospace. You will work independently and across diverse cross‑functional teams to develop, implement, and scale advanced manufacturing processes that enable reliable, high‑precision production of CMC components at rate and at quality. Job Description The Advanced Lead Manufacturing Engineer applies deep technical knowledge and expertise to drive technology maturation and product development across our application portfolio. This role works independently and with adjacent teams to develop, mature, and implement manufacturing processes - both conventional and novel - that support manufacturing of CMC components for aircraft engines, hypersonics and other aerospace applications. This position collaborates closely with supply chain, materials, and design teams to meet business and customer objectives and often leads technical initiatives or workstreams.
Key responsibilities include:
Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology:
Serves as a process specialist with advanced knowledge and skill set to provide consultation and guidance to product, material application, and design teams for area of responsibility Synthesizes and clearly communicates results of research and development activities related to material and process development; prepares and presents technical data to internal and external customers May provide support to business development activities and represent the organization in technical discussions
Process Development and Execution:
Prioritizes and leads completion of process engineering projects to achieve business objectives for product delivery, technology and manufacturing process maturation, and process risk reduction (D/PFMEA) Develops subject-matter expertise on process mechanisms and applies that learning to solve complex problems and develop/protect intellectual property (IP)
Product Application:
Practices applied creativity to develop robust processes and approaches that meet customer and product requirements Maintains focus on practical application of process to current and novel future program/product requirements and may mentor others in these areas
Qualifications/requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years engineering, manufacturing or related experience) + minimum of 3 years engineering, manufacturing or related experience
