Job Description:
DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development Engineer to join our innovative technical design team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for developing retail fixture and display solutions from concept through production. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of beauty innovation through advanced engineering techniques, research, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate sketches, renderings, and conceptual ideas into technical drawings suitable for prototyping, costing, and production.
  • Deliver timely design solutions that meet client requirements while ensuring functionality, sustainability, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability.
  • Develop detailed part drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and dielines; maintain accurate documentation within our ERP system.
  • Maximize margin potential through sound engineering practices, efficient development processes, and value-driven design solutions.
  • Effectively manage workload and schedules, prioritizing high-value projects while enabling the Project Management team to source cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
  • Conduct design validation and testing as required, following a defined approval processes to ensure fitness for purpose and regulatory compliance while minimizing rework.
  • Review and approve production samples; travel domestically and internationally to suppliers as required.
  • Support display presentations and installations both domestically and internationally.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Skills:
  • SolidWorks experience; Able to utilize program best practices and strengths.
  • Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering knowledge to develop reliable and functional solutions.
  • Experience designing and developing products for a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience and practical knowledge of injection molding or sheet metal processes will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively across multiple projects involving mass manufacture.
  • Competent with the use of Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Illustrator.
  • Creative with strong attention to detail.
  • Customer service orientated; able to take direction and build on feedback.
  • Design-driven mindset with strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for eco-friendly and sustainable design.
LOCATION
Hauppauge & Melville, New York. Full time in office.
