USD Annually Description:

We are seeking a hands-on Plant Engineer to oversee the maintenance, reliability, and continuous operation of a food manufacturing facility in Bronx, NY. This role requires a strong technical background in both mechanical and electrical systems, along with the leadership ability to manage maintenance personnel and troubleshoot production issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Provide hands-on maintenance and engineering support throughout the facility. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems. Maintain, optimize, and support packaging and production equipment. Identify and resolve equipment failures and production issues to minimize downtime. Lead and manage a team of mechanics and maintenance personnel. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs. Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability. Utilize computer-based maintenance systems and other software tools to track repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment performance. Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards. Qualifications Strong working knowledge of electrical systems and controls. Extensive experience with mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment. Experience maintaining packaging machinery and production equipment. Knowledge of refrigeration systems and equipment. Proven ability to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions. Previous experience leading, supervising, or managing maintenance personnel. Strong computer skills, including maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications. Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred. Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills. Requirements Must be a hands-on engineer willing to actively work on equipment and machinery. Ability to work a mandatory Monday-Saturday schedule. Must be available for Saturday work, which is compensated in addition to base salary.
