division is currently seeking a Entry Level Design Engineer. This role is based in Orchard Park, NY. The expected annual salary range for this role is $69000 - $101000 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. ## What you'll do: Job summary Eaton's Mission Systems Division is currently seeking a detail-oriented Entry-Level Design Engineer to support research and new product development initiatives. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer with strong CAD skills who is eager to grow into a well-rounded design engineer. You will begin with a primary focus on CAD modeling and drafting while gaining exposure to engineering design, analysis, testing, and product development processes. This is a growth-focused position with a clear path toward a full Design Engineer role, including increasing ownership of product design and engineering decisions over time. You will report to the Design Services Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with Design Engineers, Product Design Managers, and cross-functional teams. Job responsibilities- Create and modify 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (SolidWorks).
- Update and revise existing designs based on engineering changes.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure designs meet engineering and manufacturing standards.
- Maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and revision control.
- Support Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives.
- Assist engineers with design development, prototyping, and testing activities.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and analysis under guidance.
- Participate in design reviews and implement feedback.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams.
- Support troubleshooting of design and production issues.
- Receive mentorship and guidance from experienced engineers.
- Participate in structured learning and hands-on training opportunities.
- Gradually take ownership of smaller design projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Expand skills in engineering analysis, validation, and full product design.
- Progress toward independent design responsibility and project ownership.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (BSME) or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology (BSET) from an accredited institution.
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) through coursework, internships, or projects.
- Basic understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation (coursework acceptable).
- No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Orchard Park, NY to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

- Exposure to GD&T principles and drafting standards.
- Familiarity with BOMs and revision control processes.
- Experience with ERP or PLM systems.
- SolidWorks Certification (CSWP or higher).
- Basic machining or manufacturing knowledge.
- Exposure to
ASME Y14
standards.- Interest or exposure to aerospace, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
