CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER LOCATION
Peekskill, NY
COMPENSATION
$85,000-$100,000, commensurate with experience

Our client, a manufacturing company specializing in precision-engineered products, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive process optimization, improve product quality, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement Lean manufacturing practices, identify improvement opportunities, and deliver measurable results across production operations.
BSIE BSME OR OTHER ENGINEERING DEGREE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 2-3 years of experience in continuous improvement, manufacturing, process engineering, or quality engineering; 5-7 years preferred. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, and process optimization. Experience with quality management systems, data analysis, and performance improvement tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI and ERP/MES systems is preferred. Strong analytical, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Must meet ITAR requirements and authorized to work in the
U.S. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce scrap, rework, defects, and operating costs while improving productivity and product quality. Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve recurring manufacturing and quality issues. Apply Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including Kaizen, 5S, value-stream mapping, and standard work. Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to optimize workflows, production processes, and equipment utilization. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure improvement results and ensure sustainable outcomes. Document improved processes, establish standard procedures, and train employees on continuous improvement practices. Support new product introductions, process changes, and initiatives to improve safety, efficiency, and overall operational performance.
