After gaining a strong position in our condiment lines, the company has expanded to virtually all areas of the food service industry. Today, Kari-Out Company employs over 500 people and has locations throughout the country. It is a privately held business that has a unique culture of customer service and entrepreneurship. To support Kari-Out s growth strategy significant investments need to be made to strengthen the basic infrastructure of the company (processes, systems, equipment, and people). The Manufacturing Engineer role is a critical role in the company and will report to the Plant Maintenance and Engineering Manager. The role is involved in facility related CI, maintenance, and engineering projects to support growth and drive reliability and cost improvement through the operation. Position Overview This Manufacturing engineer role will be responsible for the following tasks, along with any other as needed assignments: Driving production KPI s such as equipment OEE, Labor cost per case, quality defects, and employee safety Oversight of projects that could include, but are not limited to Installation and commissioning of robotic automation equipment Installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment Improvements to existing manufacturing equipment Large scale maintenance projects and machine retrofits New product development Training and auditing of manufacturing process High level equipment troubleshooting Inter-team communication of issues, new processes, or any other pertinent information Development of project and or manufacturing reports for executive management Candidates will provide engineering services on several simultaneous projects. Oversee Installations, contract administration, and quality assurance activities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. Analyze design and manufacturing issues with respect to requirements and deliver recommendations to the Management team Candidate will need to review and interpret plans and specifications, submittals, reports, schedules, modifications, cost estimates, applications, and change orders. Participate in conferences with management personnel. Desired Education and Experience Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering or related field from an accredited college, preferred. Proficiency in all MS software required Proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD modeling required Detail oriented, fast paced worker, and a self-starter mentality required. 1 - 3 years of experience in industrial manufacturing a plus Experience with low voltage systems and Basic PLC knowledge a plus Experience with high volume manufacturing is a plus Experience with basic lean manufacturing principles is a plus Experience with robotic automation and ancillary equipment is a plus Personal Attribute's Building highly effective, collaborative working relationships at all levels in the organization Strong ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) Rapidly builds trust with fellow employees Effectively leading change in a small business environment High level of self-determination and self-management (gets things done) Detail oriented, tech savvy, willingness to continually learn and embrace new approaches (growth mindset) Bias to action, calmly solves problems, follow-throughs, holds self & others accountable, willingness to do what it takes to get the job done Highly organized, ability to work on multiple project and meet tight deadlines.
