- Permanent, Full-time Manufacturing Engineer Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineer will help improve manufacturing processes, equipment performance, quality, safety, and overall efficiency within a heavy industrial environment.
This role works closely with production, maintenance, quality, and safety teams to troubleshoot issues, reduce downtime, support continuous improvement, and ensure processes are effective, documented, and aligned with production goals. Key Responsibilities Review manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, quality, and cost. Troubleshoot production, equipment, workflow, and process issues with plant teams. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring manufacturing concerns. Create and update SOPs, work instructions, process documentation, and training materials. Monitor production data, downtime, and key performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities. Recommend tooling, fixture, equipment, and layout changes to improve workflow and reduce waste. Support new product launches, process changes, equipment setup, testing, and validation. Partner with quality and safety teams to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance employees. Assist with lean initiatives, cost-reduction projects, and capital equipment planning. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in heavy manufacturing, machining, fabrication, casting, foundry, or a similar industrial setting. Experience with lean manufacturing, process improvement, equipment optimization, and waste reduction. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and process documentation. Working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar. Familiarity with quality systems, safety standards, preventive maintenance, and production metrics. Hands-on experience with precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma knowledge preferred. Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. CIV123
