We design, fabricate, and install custom signage for businesses, healthcare systems, schools, municipalities, and national brands. Our work includes everything from architectural signage and ADA systems to monument signs, wall graphics, and large-scale exterior signage. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Sign Engineer / Technical Designer to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong drafting and engineering skills who can translate concepts into detailed production and construction drawings. While prior sign industry experience is a plus, it is not required. Candidates with experience in architectural drafting, structural detailing, millwork, fabrication design, or similar technical design roles are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed shop drawings and build drawings using CAD software Develop fabrication-ready and installation-ready drawings Create structural and construction details for custom signage Coordinate with sales, project managers, fabricators, and installers Review field measurements and incorporate them into final drawings Assist with engineering concepts, material selection, and construction methods Ensure drawings meet applicable codes and permitting requirements Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in drafting, technical design, or engineering Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, DraftSight, or similar programs Strong understanding of construction methods and fabrication techniques Ability to produce accurate, detailed build drawings Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Preferred Experience Sign industry experience Structural design or engineering knowledge Experience with architectural or manufacturing drawings Familiarity with permitting and code compliance Compensation Compensation is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications.
