Job Description:
DSJ Global is currently partnered with an industry leading nutraceuticals company who is looking to add a senior-level injection molding expert to their team in the greater Dayton, OH area. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for leading and optimizing injection molding operations within a high-volume, regulated manufacturing environment. This position focuses on process ownership, tooling performance, quality compliance, and continuous improvement while supporting production teams and driving operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Own and optimize injection molding processes to achieve safety, quality, and efficiency targets Lead process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), capability studies, and establish standard process documentation Apply scientific molding, DOE, and SPC techniques to reduce variation and improve product consistency Partner with quality and compliance teams to support audits and ensure adherence to regulatory and GMP standards Drive mold design improvements in collaboration with tooling vendors (cooling, gating, venting, materials) Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for molds and tooling Lead capital and continuous improvement projects including tooling launches, transfers, and equipment installations Provide hands-on technical support to production teams, troubleshooting molding equipment and processes Champion Lean/Six Sigma initiatives (DMAIC, kaizen, SMED) to improve flow and reduce waste Ensure accurate documentation including process sheets, control plans, SOPs, and maintenance records Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics Engineering, or related field 3+ years of injection molding experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment Strong hands-on experience with tooling, mold maintenance, and process troubleshooting Demonstrated project management experience delivering technical initiatives on time Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., GMP)
