Job Description

Vaco is hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer opportunity in
Delphos, OH Direct Hire, Onsite Salary:
85-110,000/yr SUMMARY Owns the technical definition of manufacturing processes, equipment settings, line capacity, equipment selection, installations, and engineering standards. Ensures production lines meet performance targets, equipment startups succeed, and technical documentation remains accurate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and validate process parameters, equipment settings, run rates, and process documentation. Analyze line capacity, constraints, downtime, and losses; investigate recurring issues and implement corrective actions. Evaluate equipment and material, ingredient, and packaging changes; conduct production trials and document operating parameters. Manage capital projects from justification and budgeting through vendor selection, installation, commissioning, rate qualification, and handover. Develop equipment specifications and RFQs; oversee acceptance testing, contractors, safety, and installation quality. Partner with R D, Quality, and Operations to launch new and reformulated products, assess feasibility, and manage engineering change control. Maintain equipment drawings, line layouts, P&IDs, utility maps, manuals, spare parts lists, and engineering standards. Support audits, equipment safety and food safety assessments, and technical troubleshooting with Production and Maintenance. Train operators and mechanics on new equipment; evaluate yield, waste, utility consumption, and material usage to improve performance. Track project schedules, capital spending, and technical results; support installations, trials, shutdowns, and startups.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical, Packaging, or Food Engineering, or equivalent experience; 3+ years of manufacturing engineering in food, beverage, or regulated consumer products; capital project ownership through commissioning; production data analysis; CAD proficiency; knowledge of sanitary design, GMP, allergen control, food safety, machine safety, and risk assessment; strong communication skills and flexibility for off-shift, weekend, and shutdown support.
Preferred:
Filling, sealing, labeling, case packing, and palletizing equipment; thermal processing, CIP, and refrigerated processing; controls and automation; plant utilities and ammonia-related PSM; statistical process analysis; bilingual English/Spanish.
