Automation Engineer•
Direct Hire Salary:
$95,000•100,000 We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team in a direct hire opportunity. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and improving automated manufacturing systems to increase production efficiency, equipment reliability, and product quality. The ideal candidate will have experience with automation technologies, controls systems, robotics, and process improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement automation and control systems for manufacturing operations Lead automation projects including equipment launches, system integration, and process improvements Program, troubleshoot, and support PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, robotics, and machine vision technology Improve production performance through process optimization and data analysis Develop and integrate machine vision systems for inspection and quality control Support Industry 4.0 initiatives including IIoT, smart manufacturing, and real-time monitoring Work closely with engineering, production, IT, and vendors to deliver automation solutions Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives Create and maintain technical documentation and standards Provide technical guidance and training to operations and engineering teams
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or related field) or equivalent experience 5+ years of automation, controls, or manufacturing experience Experience implementing and integrating manufacturing equipment Project management experience preferred
Technical Skills:
PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley preferred)
HMI/SCADA
development (FactoryTalk preferred) Robotic programming and troubleshooting (ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa preferred) Machine vision systems experience (Keyence preferred) Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) Understanding of industrial networks, process controls, and IT/OT integration The JobSquad Solutions Team is made up of experts around the country.
