We are seeking a detail-oriented Design Engineer. You will be responsible for creating drawings and models of new products for our Manufacturing and R D department. This role needs strong competency in SolidWorks. In this role, you will be expected to conduct research, generate new product ideas and improve the efficiency and overall performance of existing products.
Experience:
  • 7-10 years of related experience in 3D design and drafting.
Duties and Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks CAD design software.
  • Proficient in electrical schematics is a plus.
  • Be able to create 3D models for all new products.
  • Maintain and organize records of designs and project documentation.
  • Be able to analyze and fix any design issues when they arise and communicate those changes to the Production Team.
  • Be able to recognize mistakes, analyze to make sure effectiveness and performance is maintained.
  • Collaborate with the Owner and Production Manager to ensure the designs are achievable and manufacturable.
  • Be able to work with the manufacturing team utilizing strong communication skills to effectively relay designs and be able to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Work along with the R D department to make sure the appropriate materials and components are right for designs, including researching UL requirements as they apply to new Designs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, as well as interfacing with our Vendors' to assure quality manufacturing.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices.
  • Competency in basic MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
