Job Description

Design Engineer L2 - Chassis#26-00756 Raymond, OH
Onsite Job Description Responsibilities:
All the skills and abilities of Engineer L1. Additionally, must be proficient in technical writing and possess computer skills for scientific and technical applications. Must be able to proficiently handle multiple projects and develop analytical procedures. Work with suppliers to ensure parts/services are requested appropriately, evaluate technical proposals, and write technical reports. Make technical decisions with moderate supervision. Ability to report research and test results in various technical formats. Able to work with a team or on an individual basis to reach project goals.
Requirements:
Must be able to design and develop Chassis components (Subframe, Engine Mounts, Suspension/Steering components, etc). Prior design experience with complex aluminum die casting and stamped/welded structures is preferred. Must be able to work with other design and test engineers and suppliers to analyze and resolve technical problems. Must be able to handle multiple projects and work with a team to meet development schedules. Requires Catia V6 proficiency (Solids Modeling must; Surfacing modeling want) Design intent and robust modeling (models can withstand major revision) Ability to create and interpret 2D Drawings. GD&T awareness. Prefer previous Chassis design experience. Strong understanding of design for manufacturability. Ability to pick up new standards and methodologies. Capability to create and interpret basic CAE models (stiffness, natural frequency, etc)
