Senior Design Engineer and Jr Design Engineer The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and enhancement of new and existing products. Working from customer requirements, specifications, and project objectives, this role develops complete engineering solutions through the application of CAD software, engineering principles, and technical analysis. The Senior Design Engineer serves as a technical leader, providing guidance and mentorship to engineering personnel while leading complex projects, customer interactions, and cross-functional teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design and develop company products using SolidWorks and other engineering software tools. Create detailed engineering drawings and documentation for customer proposals, manufacturing, and production. Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and routings to support cost estimation and manufacturing operations. Develop owner's manuals, test procedures, technical documentation, and engineering reports. Perform engineering calculations and analyses to properly size and specify equipment, systems, and components. Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing personnel during fabrication, assembly, and testing activities. Support field installations, troubleshooting, commissioning, and customer service activities as required. Serve as Lead Engineer on assigned projects, acting as the primary technical liaison for customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and quality objectives to ensure successful project execution. Lead cross-functional engineering and design teams on large, complex, or high-priority projects. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product design, engineering processes, manufacturing efficiency, and quality. Mentor and develop Design Engineers and CAD Designers through technical leadership and knowledge sharing. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities May directly supervise Design Engineers, CAD Designers, and other technical personnel. Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to engineering and design teams. Lead cross-functional teams through product development, project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support resource planning, workload management, and technical decision-making for assigned projects. Qualifications Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, engineering standards, and manufacturing processes. Ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and mentor engineering personnel. Proficiency in performing engineering calculations and technical analysis using engineering software and traditional methods. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, sales, manufacturing, vendors, and customers. Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Minimum of ten (10) years of related engineering and product design experience. Experience leading technical projects and engineering teams preferred. Language Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, interpret, and communicate complex technical information, including mechanical drawings, engineering specifications, and electrical schematics. Mathematical Skills Proficient in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and engineering calculations required for product design, analysis, and problem-solving. Computer Skills Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks (required). Experience with additional 2D/3D CAD software is a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with ERP, PDM, or product lifecycle management (PLM) systems preferred.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
