Exempt Summary:
This position is responsible to create, release and control work orders and production flow to the shop floor, including managing the planning and inventory data in the company ERP system, controlling document flow, transaction information, work order tracking, and changes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for establishing manufacturing sequences and lead times
  • Responsible for BOM design
  • Creating process documentation for various company functions
  • Utilizes drawing packages and technical data to review and enter manufacturing requirements into companywide ERP system
  • Plans sequence of Fabrication, Assembly and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers
  • Identifies the work orders needing to be released; checking for available materials, logging and distributing the work orders appropriately, maintaining material shortage logs and meetings
  • Plans stock replacement efforts based on production schedules and releases work orders to replenish stock
  • Responsible for make vs. buy decisions based on manufacturing capabilities and production capacity
  • Interfaces with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing and production to ensure proper communication and actions to include: changes to ship dates, production dates, part numbers, routings and BOM's
  • Interfaces with Purchasing for part requirements, delivery dates and make-vs.-buy issues
  • Create reports, flow diagram and charts as needed for the management team
  • Responsible for work order maintenance o Actively monitor Rev levels to ensure production to latest Rev release o Remove older revisions of work orders and replace with current revisions
  • Actively participate in company-wide adoption of ERP/software package systems
  • Responsible for the creation of internal documents for process/work instructions, shop aids and forms/logs, etc.
  • Perform other duties as required
Education, Training, Skills and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Project Management experience a plus
  • Capable of researching materials and understanding process specifications
  • Capable of acquiring materials and/or outside service quotes as needed
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data (drawings, specification, blueprints, GD&T)
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be proficient in

$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
