Senior Manager, Test Development Engineering Location:
Etters , PA Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We have design, sales, and manufacturing locations globally and are currently seeking Senior Manager, Test Development Engineering to join our Cable Backplane Systems team located in Etters, PA. The Senior Manager, Test Development Engineering - Global Strategy Deployment is responsible for defining and executing the global test development strategy for Amphenol TCS's next-generation 448G high-speed interconnect product portfolio. This leadership role drives worldwide alignment of test architecture, engineering standards, automation, validation methodologies, and program execution across multiple engineering sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The position partners closely with Product Development, Signal Integrity, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, and global customers to ensure scalable, best-in-class test solutions supporting new product introduction (NPI), production readiness, and long-term technology roadmaps. The successful candidate combines deep technical expertise in high-speed interconnect testing with strong organizational leadership and strategic program management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Strategy Leadership Develop and deploy the global test development strategy supporting 448G high-speed interconnect products. Establish standardized engineering processes, test methodologies, and best practices across worldwide engineering teams. Drive alignment between regional engineering organizations to ensure consistency in test development, validation, and production deployment. Lead long-range technology planning for next-generation electrical and optical interconnect test capabilities. Build multi-year roadmaps for test platforms, automation, instrumentation, and software infrastructure. Test Development Leadership Lead development of advanced electrical and functional test systems supporting high-speed connector and cable assembly products. Oversee architecture, design, validation, and deployment of automated test equipment (ATE).
Define global standards for:
Test coverage Test repeatability Measurement accuracy Equipment calibration Data integrity Reliability validation Drive Design for Test (DFT) initiatives throughout the product development lifecycle. Program Management Provide strategic oversight for multiple global NPI test development programs. Establish program milestones, resource planning, risk mitigation, and executive reporting. Coordinate engineering activities across North America, Asia, and Europe. Ensure successful transfer of test solutions from development into manufacturing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with:
Product Engineering Signal Integrity Engineering Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Operations Global Quality Supply Chain Customer Engineering Strategic Customers to ensure test solutions support product performance, manufacturability, quality, and customer requirements. Technology Leadership Lead implementation of emerging technologies including: 448G PAM4 architectures High-speed channel validation Automated measurement systems Data analytics AI-assisted test optimization Digital manufacturing initiatives Test software modernization Statistical process control Predictive quality methodologies Organizational Leadership Lead and develop global teams of Test Development Engineers. Mentor engineering managers and technical leaders. Drive continuous improvement culture across engineering organizations. Develop succession planning and technical competency frameworks. Foster collaboration across international engineering sites.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field required; Master's degree preferred. 12+ years of engineering experience in electronics or interconnect development. 7+ years leading engineering teams. Experience managing global engineering organizations. Demonstrated success leading large-scale strategic engineering initiatives. Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments.
