Job Description

Job Summary The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for product design, development, procurement and deployment of manufacturing processes associated with new product release of diesel exhaust aftertreatment systems. Essential Duties & Functions In charge of the full life cycle of new product release including meeting the scheduled release timelines Ensure manufacturing processes are available and capable of meeting product specifications and capacity requirements while meeting product cost targets Drive continuous improvement and quality assurance of current manufacturing processes Work closely with equipment, component suppliers, tooling, and component fixtures Work directly with senior leadership to develop and support organizational goals Communicate regularly with Sales, Operations, and Production Teams Job Skills Highly proficient with SolidWorks (CSWP and Sheet Metal preferred) Experience with reverse engineering equipment and software (Creaform and Geomagic Design X is a bonus) Experience and ability to work hands-on with industrial equipment Ability to author process documentation and blueprints Proficiency with Keyence MDX Laser Marking is a bonus Experience with Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5S, Quality Assurance, and precision measuring instrumentation Knowledge of sheet-metal manufacturing processes Critical thinking skills, advanced judgement and decision-making abilities Team player with a great attitude toward helping Skyline Emissions meet business objectives Basic knowledge of vehicle emission systems and 3D printing Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Job Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Required/Preferred Education and Experience Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or higher
Required Experience:
3-5 years of relevant work experience Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment and in a manufacturing facility with heavy equipment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and includes an unpaid lunch break of at least thirty (30) minutes. Travel Occasional travel during the work day may be required between facility locations.
