Job Description
Job Summary Sciotex is looking for a highly motivated, and creative individual to fill an opening for an Electrical Engineer focusing on industrial automation and automated test systems development. This position is located in Newtown Square, PA. Sciotex is a leading system integrator and developer serving clients nationally. We are currently reviewing applicants to help our team deliver on a growing project list. Responsibilities and Duties The technical duties include: designing, developing, and building custom systems for electrical, electronics and control systems. This position will incorporate a wide variety of technologies such as DAQ, PLC, machine vision, robotics, motor/motion control, controls engineering, process control, AI and ML systems. Our clients come from a wide variety of industries and scientific research institutions. So, there is an equally wide variety of projects and we are most often inventing new ways of doing things. This position will be hands-on and may often be a client's point of contact for project phases or for full projects. Comfort with client communications, managing to a defined scope and full-cycle development is needed as is comfort working alongside a very talented engineering team. While some client work can be accomplished in our shop or remotely, travel to client sites for assessments, check-points, installs or support is occasionally required. Qualifications and Skills The ideal candidate will possess the following skills & qualifications: Minimum of a BSEE. Strong preference for advanced degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Vision, Computer Engineering or Systems Engineering. Experience with formal electrical design in Solidworks or Autocad along with hands-on experience assembling electrical and control panels for industrial systems. Advanced software engineering of software development experience Well-developed analytical skills and the ability to quickly learn new technologies Experience with PLC Controls, Wonderware, Ignition or LabVIEW, Matlab. Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work both independently and with a team of highly talented colleagues Highly organized with respect to documentation, project management and scope No visa sponsorship is available for this position. Candidates should be within commuting distance to our offices in Newtown Square, PA or have plans to relocate to the Philadelphia area.
