Job Title:
Technician Job Description This Technician role focuses on assembling, testing, and troubleshooting complex electromechanical products in a fast-paced, clean manufacturing environment. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure products meet high standards of quality, reliability, and value, while also helping to develop documentation and train colleagues on processes, safety, and quality expectations. Responsibilities Assemble and test electromechanical products while carefully following detailed work instructions. Troubleshoot small electromechanical products to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, or system-level issues. Troubleshoot production processes and test equipment to support continuous and reliable manufacturing operations. Interpret engineering prints and electrical schematics to guide assembly, testing, and troubleshooting activities. Interpret and develop production documents such as work instructions and checklists to ensure consistent, repeatable processes. Train production employees on safety practices, quality standards, and manufacturing processes. Support and actively participate in safety and quality initiatives, including 5S, ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) programs. Support process improvement efforts to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and increase efficiency. Perform mechanical assembly and industrial panel wiring as needed for electromechanical systems. Perform other related duties as required to support production and organizational goals. Essential Skills Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a relevant technical degree. 1-5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or lean manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience working with electromechanical products, systems, or instrumentation. Mechanical assembly experience, including working with precision components. Industrial panel wiring experience. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, prints, and electrical schematics. Experience assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electromechanical products. Ability to follow detailed work instructions and production documentation accurately. Strong troubleshooting skills for processes, test equipment, and electromechanical systems. Familiarity with safety and quality initiatives such as 5S, ESD, and FOD. Experience working with precision instrumentation and complex electromechanical systems (preferred). 3+ years of experience in a relevant role is strongly considered. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment and support overtime when required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in industries such as robotics, defense, or medical devices is highly valued. Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar tools to support understanding of mechanical designs. Experience in diagnostics and systematic troubleshooting of manufacturing issues. Experience in lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement. Ability to develop clear work instructions, checklists, and other production documents. Strong communication skills to effectively train and support production employees. Current students in a relevant technical or engineering program may be considered for part-time or full-time contract work, depending on skills and availability. Demonstrated interest in robotics or advanced manufacturing technologies is a plus. Desire for long-term growth with the potential to convert from contract to direct employment based on performance. Work Environment The role is based in a very fast-paced, clean manufacturing facility focused on electromechanical and robotics-related products. Standard hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break and small breaks offered throughout the day; overtime may be required at times to meet production demands. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out ofPITTSBURGH, PA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
