Manufacturing Engineer Job Description The Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in developing, maintaining, and auditing manufacturing and assembly processes. This position focuses on advancing manufacturing operations by implementing safer, more reliable, and cost-effective processes and equipment in fabrication, assembly, and finishing. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and audit manufacturing and assembly processes. Advance manufacturing operations by specifying and evaluating fabrication, assembly, and finishing processes. Implement safer, more repeatable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes. Design, specify, and develop production tooling, gauges, jigs, and fixtures. Collaborate with multiple departments and work in a multi-disciplinary team. Oversee, guide, and train engineering technicians, maintenance personnel, and operations personnel. Essential Skills Excellent working knowledge of fabrication, assembly, manufacturing, and coating processes. Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Strong project management and organizational skills. Effective oral and written communication; excellent interpersonal skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Five years of experience in the sheet metal fabrication industry is preferred. Experience with designing and developing production tooling, gauges, jigs, and fixtures. Experience with sheet metal manufacturing technologies, including fabrication, finishing, welding, and material handling. Experience with
DFM, DFMEA/PFMEA
applications. Experience with Lean Manufacturing. Work Environment This position offers a professional work environment, requiring frequent work both in the office and on the production floor. It involves sedentary work with extended periods of computer use. Travel by car or plane is required, as well as periodic work on second and third shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Reading, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
