MOLDED FIBER GLASS/UNION CITY
Position Profile Summary Title:
Engineer Reports to: Plant Manager or Designee Approved by: General Manager (T1)
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Assist in the development and on-going implementation of manufacturing processes that best utilize available labor, materials, and production time.
A. RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze customer product specifications and determine feasibility of manufacturing the order. Complete costing of labor, material, and processes required for customer project in determination of sales price. Track and maintain project costs to ensure accurate future pricing. Develop manufacturing work instructions and provide for necessary products and material application. Aid in the development of product databases. Interface with customers, vendors, Corporate Engineering, and internal division personnel regarding customer, project and application issues. Assist in the development of labor standards utilized in the quoting of new projects. Complete special projects including but not limited to plant layout, equipment acquisition, project timelines and general project oversight. Create solutions to process problems and implement cost saving process techniques. Interface with production teammates, team leaders, quality personnel, and other engineering personnel in determining process requirements. Determine needed tooling for manufacturing operations. Prepare necessary drawings and/or 3D models. Provide input and assistance to materials utilization and ensure materials meet production specifications. Inspect fixtures and assist in maintaining customer tooling records. Maintain communications with customers on resolution of process problems, tooling and application related issues. Be "hands on" involved in all aspects of making prototype sample parts for all new product launches and take ownership of the processes / procedures for making a part until they are proven successful and handed-off to manufacturing. Provide input on need for budget related items such as equipment and tools. Other tasks and duties as assigned.
B. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
: Process manufacturing background within composites industry desired. Engineering experience including quoting and program management desired. Experience in formal AIAG, APQP, PFMEA, and Control Plans desired. Knowledge in
CAD / CAM
software a plus.
C. ATTRIBUTES
: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrate effective communication skills both written and verbal. Positive company representative

From $75,000.00 per year
