Job Description

We are partnered with an incredible CNC Machine Tool Builder in search of CNC Field Service Engineers! As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance support for CNC machine tools at customer locations across the country. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring optimal machine performance and delivering top-notch customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, advanced diagnostic skills, and a customer-centric approach. Reporting to the CNC Field Service Manager, this position can be based anywhere East of the Mississippi, with a preference for candidates near airports in IL, TN, KY, AL, and OH. Responsibilities Install new CNC machine tool systems at customer sites, with all options and accessories Perform machine leveling, geometry checks, and final adjustments to ensure peak performance Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and application-related issues Identify root causes and suggest corrective actions, including repair or replacement solutions Provide technical support on-site and remotely through phone, email, and other communication channels Assist customers, distributors, and internal teams with technical guidance and issue resolution Deliver customer training and support project coordination as needed Offer service support at trade shows and company events when necessary Maintain detailed service documentation and reports Travel extensively (100%) including overnights and some weekend travel Perform other duties as required Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent hands-on experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machine tool maintenance and service (electrical and mechanical) At least 5 years of experience providing remote technical support in the machine tool industry Demonstrated experience in installing and servicing machining centers, including leveling and geometric alignment Strong knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting Experience with CNC control systems, particularly FANUC controls Solid understanding of power circuits and industrial electrical systems Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service abilities Ability to travel extensively (100% during weekdays) and work independently in the field
