Engineering Job Summary & Purpose:

AI Systems Inc. is looking for a Design Engineer that is eager and able to turn ideas for products into functional prototypes using efficient and affordable processes. The ideal candidate will be comfortable preparing design briefs for both internal use and presentation to customers.

Essential Functions:

The Design Engineer's main functions will include, but not be limited to:

• Researching possible production methods
• Use of engineering software (SolidWorks) to refine and develop products
• Assessing design briefs to gauge design requirements
• Design for manufacturing
• Competent communication/interaction with all departments (Maintenance, Manufacturing, Flight Support and Avionics)
• Conducting research on user experience and needs, current market trends, and general functionality
• Developing solutions that solve user problems
• Creating multiple iterations of design prototypes using computer-aided design tools
• Conducting rigorous usability tests and modifying the product based on the test results
• Evaluating design solutions against industry standards and regulations
• Documenting the design process and presenting progress reports to Management Team and/or customers

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Engineering (Required)
• Strong working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) or engineering software (Required)
• SolidWorks experience (Required)
• 3-D Scanning experience (Preferred)
• Advanced design skills
• Impeccable attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects to meet customer deadlines
• Self-motivated
• Critical thinking skills
• Ability to follow written/verbal instructions

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Work hours more than 40 hours per week may be required at times.
