Position Summary:
After completing internal training on our SolidWorks design tools and database systems, you will support the engineering team by modifying and developing sheet metal models in SolidWorks for production. You will then be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining manufacturing drawings. The role also includes working directly with customers on new enclosure designs, obtaining design approval, and releasing designs for manufacturing. Typical lead time from customer purchase order to shipment is 4-5 weeks, depending on the production schedule.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Work safely and follow all company safety policies and procedures. Under general direction of the Engineering Manager, update or create drawings and CAD models using SolidWorks and established company drawing procedures. 3-D Modeling primarily focused on production of electrical enclosures using super models as a base starting point. Finalize enclosure designs with customers to get final approval for manufacturing Produce quality manufacturing drawings. Interact with coworkers to effectively complete tasks. Participate in project team meetings on a regular basis. Performs other related assignments as required.
Technical Requirements & Competencies:
Extremely Detail Oriented & Organized Proficient with 3D sheet metal modeling & AutoCAD 2D drawings Ability to read blueprints and tolerancing of parts accordingly Familiarity with different sheet materials (grade, thickness, finish) a plus. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with
Microsoft Office Software Performance Indicators:
Customer Satisfaction Minimal to no manufacturing rework. Compliance with safety and quality standards. On time shipments
