ROUTING, CLIPPING & LAYOUT PLANNING TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER 1.

Role Classification & Engagement Individual contractor providing technical staff augmentation under company direction and established processes. This is a technical engineering support role. 2. Project Background Support a confidential initiative for the design, construction, and equipment/process execution of a new truck manufacturing plant in the United States. Contribute to product and plant industrialization readiness through routing, clipping/retention, and layout planning, primarily for LV battery cables/powernet, with additional support for LV harnesses and fluid routing. 3. Confidentiality & NDA Execute an NDA before accessing any non-public project information or systems, including designs, CAD data, layouts, routing paths, build plans, supplier details, costs, and schedules. Comply with all confidentiality, information security, and access-control requirements. 4. Objective Support OU Work Package Leads and Product Project PAR Leads by developing routing, clipping, retention, and layout solutions for electrical and non-electrical systems, ensuring manufacturability, serviceability, quality, and build readiness. 5. Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities A. Layout Planning & Development Create, develop, and maintain 2D/3D layouts reflecting packaging constraints, interfaces, and installation intent. Prepare release-quality layouts, markups, and technical outputs for cross-functional reviews and downstream execution. Document constraints, capture review actions, incorporate approved changes, and maintain revision/version clarity per company processes. B.

Primary Focus:

LV Battery Cables & Powernet Develop and validate LV battery cable/powernet routing paths against packaging constraints and best practices. Ensure appropriate bend radius, clearances, thermal protection, abrasion/chafe prevention, water-ingress mitigation, and service access. Propose alternative routes and trade studies to resolve constraints and interferences. Define/validate clipping and retention strategies, including clip selection guidance, location, spacing, and orientation to control movement and prevent chafing. Recommend protection solutions such as convolute, sleeving, tape, edge protection, and grommets. Coordinate with bracket and fastener owners to ensure required provisions are incorporated. C.

Expanded Support:

LV Harness, Fluid & Other Routing Support routing and retention of LV harnesses, hoses, tubes, coolant/air lines, and other assigned systems. Ensure adequate clearance, thermal protection, dynamic movement allowance, abrasion resistance, drainage, service access, and assembly-sequence compatibility. Identify opportunities to standardize clips, brackets, and retention features across systems where permitted, improving manufacturability and reducing complexity. Develop clip maps and retention concepts, documenting assumptions and interfaces. D. Manufacturing & Build Readiness Assess assembly feasibility, installation paths, operator ergonomics, tool access, and error-proofing opportunities. Identify risks such as misrouting, excessive installation force, and potential rework; recommend countermeasures. Coordinate with vehicle packaging, body, chassis, interior, thermal, EE architecture, grounding, and manufacturing engineering teams. Resolve routing/clipping interferences and missing provisions affecting layout release readiness. Support prototype, PRS, and other build events on-site or remotely to troubleshoot electrical and fluid routing/clipping issues. Document issues, suspected root causes, containment actions, and corrective recommendations; support fix implementation and verification, updating layouts and documentation accordingly.

E. PFMEA

Support (No DFMEA) Provide technical inputs for routing/retention-related process failure modes, including chafing, clip disengagement, misbuild, kinking, abrasion-related leaks, service damage, corrosion, and water exposure. Recommend practical prevention and detection controls aligned with manufacturing processes. F. Documentation & Engineering Evidence Create and maintain layouts, routing evidence, clip strategy summaries, open-issue lists, and validation status. Provide work-instruction inputs and visual aids to clarify routing, clipping, and layout requirements. 6. Key Deliverables Depending on assignment, deliverables include: 2D/3D layout packages and marked-up electrical/fluid layouts, including constraints and assumptions. Routing/clipping proposals, clip maps, retention strategy summaries, and interference lists with recommended resolutions. Build issue logs, corrective-action recommendations, and verification status. PFMEA inputs covering proces
