Industrial Experience is a MUST! NICET Level III On behalf of our valued client in North Carolina, we are seeking an experienced Senior Fire Alarm Designer. This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional with a strong background in large INDUSTRIAL and complex fire alarm projects who is looking for an opportunity to grow into a leadership position.Responsibilities:
Design and layout fire alarm systems for large-scale and complex projects, ensuring compliance with NFPA, local, state, and federal codes. Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and submittals using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit). Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to ensure accuracy and constructability of designs. Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Provide technical support during installation and commissioning. Mentor and guide junior designers, with the potential to step into a formal leadership role. Coordinate with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) for approvals and inspections.Qualifications:
7+ years of fire alarm system design experience (NICET Level III or IV in Fire Alarm Systems strongly preferred) OR FPE OR significant experience in other Fire Protection Systems with the ability to transition into fire alarm design. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and related design software. Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and local building/fire codes. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Effective communication and leadership skills; experience mentoring or leading a team a plus. Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or related field preferred (but not required).Offering:
