Job Description

Otis Elevator Company has an opening for a Model-Based Design (MBD) Systems Architect.
This is a hybrid position:
Can work 3 days per week out of the Farmington Hills, MI office and 2 days remote anywhere in the U.S. Develop models for control and diagnostic algorithms using MBD tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, LabVIEW) that deliver the required features and functional content to our customers. Ensure compliance to safety requirements, regulatory requirements, local building codes, and internal company policy. Ensure optimal implementation with an embedded coder. Support the development of model-based design tools and processes. Work with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to understand functional requirements and implement appropriate control solutions. Use advance techniques to verify functionality and performance of algorithms (MIL/SIL/HIL testing). Support the development of Standard Work for the use of the above model-based algorithm development tools and processes. National and international travel 1-2 times per year. Must possess at least a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field and at least 5 years of experience as a Technical Lead or related role.
Must also possess the following:
at least 5 years of experience in Model-based design; at least 5 years of experience with embedded systems; at least 3 years of experience with requirement management; and at least 3 years of experience in project management.
