Automotive Angott Search Group is pleased to partner with a global automotive manufacturing organization in the search for a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME). The Senior AME is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the implementation of manufacturing processes within a production environment. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing strategies through expertise in product design, tooling, automation, materials, assembly methods, and quality standards. This individual will work cross-functionally to support product launches, process optimization, equipment implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring manufacturing feasibility, operational efficiency, and successful production outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Support Simultaneous Development Team (SDT) activities by providing manufacturing feasibility assessments related to product design, engineering changes, scope changes, and quality concerns. Develop process flow strategies and plant layout requirements. Evaluate gaging and packaging strategies and assess impact on manufacturing operations. Define tooling and capital equipment requirements while maintaining adherence to program budgets. Lead procurement, installation, project management, and acceptance activities for equipment and tooling. Facilitate implementation of manufacturing equipment and provide technical training support within the facility. Assess manufacturing processes and equipment for ergonomic concerns and drive corrective actions. Support customer launch requirements including pilots, testing, run-at-rate activities, and process sign-offs. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and efficiency. Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, engineering teams, and plant operations to ensure successful program execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, advanced manufacturing, process engineering, tooling, or similar disciplines. Automotive manufacturing experience required; Tier One automotive interiors experience preferred. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across multiple levels internally and externally. Experience with workflow analysis, line balancing, and takt time optimization. Experience with Auto
CAD, PLC
programming, and automation technologies. Experience leading DOE and data-driven process improvement studies. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong project management and technical problem-solving capabilities. Familiarity with the full product lifecycle including development, launch, and production support.
Injection Molding Experience Preferred:
Tool feasibility and design. Plastic part feasibility and plastics processing. Plastic materials knowledge. Tool build and validation. RJG and Master Molder methodologies. Robotics and process equipment. Standard molding, 2K, IMD, IML, and insert molding processes. Job # 2277 Share
