Job Description
Pipe Designer Purpose Designers are responsible for creating plans, designs, specifications, and drawings based on calculations and written instructions provided by customers or engineers. General Duties Create, review, or revise product or pipe support plans and specifications. Design components for new or existing products or applications. Ensure accuracy of drawings and bills of materials generated by CADD/Designers; minimize or eliminate rework in manufacturing. Work in a team environment to ensure accuracy and provide quality work. Participate in meetings and work closely with estimating, manufacturing, OL, production, and customer personnel to ensure quality design of new or redesigned products. Ensure that design ideas are sound and in keeping with budgetary constraints. Maintain working knowledge of the industry and apply industry-specific codes and standards to assigned designs. Demonstrate the ability to work within MicroStation, NAVISWORKS, and AutoCAD environments. Ensure that electronic files of design documentation and other engineering data are securely maintained. Verify drawings and documents are in accordance with engineering standards before release to manufacturing. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by management. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications Vocational or technical school certifications/diplomas in AutoCAD. Three (3) or more years of experience in a 3D modeling environment, specifically working on pipe supports. Associate degree in Industrial Design or Engineering preferred. Knowledge of industry safety and procedural requirements. Working knowledge of and/or experience with
ASME B31.1/B31.3
is desired. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software required for the job. Strong conceptualization skills with the ability to visualize finished products and projects. Skills in computer-aided drafting techniques and structural drafting are preferred. Goal-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong creative problem-solving abilities. Must be able to effectively communicate and transfer information to and from customers, as well as exchange drawing and report information with engineers and technicians. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kodak, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
