www.viskase.com Project Engineer Position Summary The Project Engineer is responsible for managing engineering projects related to new equipment installations, process improvements, equipment modifications, and operational troubleshooting. This role provides hands-on technical support and engineering expertise to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while delivering long-term value to the plant. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives. Provide technical expertise and problem-solving support to plant operations and maintenance teams. Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets; track costs and ensure projects are delivered at or below approved budgets. Prepare and submit justification and obtain approval for any anticipated budget overruns prior to exceeding authorized spend. Partner with vendors and contractors to develop cost-effective, reliable engineering solutions. Procure materials and services to support timely project execution. Evaluate project execution to ensure compliance with safety standards and that all personnel are adequately protected. Coordinate and monitor contractor activities, verifying progress, quality of work, and costs. Collaborate with cross-functional plant departments to identify, design, and implement improvement projects. Schedule and coordinate internal labor and maintenance resources for projects and equipment overhauls. Identify and report potential operating issues affecting safety, environmental compliance, production, or waste. Support maintenance teams in resolving operational and equipment-related issues. Communicate project status, timelines, and requirements to management and key stakeholders. Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including updating existing drawings and creating new drawings as required. Education & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. 3-5 years of engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong project planning and execution skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, SAP, Maximo, and AutoCAD.
