Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving two primary markets - passenger vehicle and commercial truck equipment - Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for all communications and contacts with appropriate disciplines concerning all processing issues. (Product Design, Sales, Tool Shop, Production, Program Managers/Coordinators.) Responsible for stamping and assembly of all prototypes. Work closely with Tooling, Product Design, and Material Suppliers on any and all problems on prototype production tools and document these. Capable of troubleshooting metal stamping to resolve processing problems. Assist the facility in meeting Initiatives of Quality, Cost Reduction, and Delivery. Prepare reports on material processing, tooling problems, assembly problems, engineering tests, etc. Lead and/or support problem solving activities (8D, 7step, Error Proofing, Fishbone, 5 why). Lead and/or support continuous improvement programs and employee involvement work teams. Work with tool shops (internal and external) to develop equipment, fixtures, and gages, needed for development and production systems. Participate in cost savings initiatives such as VA/VE Education and Qualifications Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Engineering or 5 yrs. experience in related field Experience in metal stamping and/or manufacturing preferred Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people in a professional manner Must be self directed and a motivated individual who is willing to accept responsibility Must be flexible, willing, and able to work excess hours when needed. Proficiency developing PFMEAs, operator instructions, Control Plans, and Process Flow Charts Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Ability to travel as required to customers and suppliers Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
