Job Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY
This position will generally support all manufacturing groups by maintaining and improving existing processes to meet all HMUS quality goals and customer needs.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1.
Develop new manufacturing processes to support new product launch activities 2. Develop essential line documents, Routings, work instructions, other documentation) to support processes. 3. Negotiate with suppliers for new tooling and equipment purchases. 4. Report preparation, meetings and general paperwork Temporary Process Deviations, Process Plan Sheets, Rework Procedures, etc...). 5. New business quotes
  • including project information request responses (this is all equipment, tooling, manning, and standard time needed for new business) 6. Manufacturing process planning
  • creating engineering technical standards and process failure mode analysis for each new product line. 7. Manufacturing process trial and improvements
  • creating and implementing problem/cause/countermeasure strategy and evaluating defects. 8. Quality System documentation and standard workplace organization condition
  • including completing run at rate forms, fixed asset transfer forms, equipment run off check sheets, etc. 9. Cost saving activities
  • including executing value added/value engineered and profit retention projects, decreasing downtime via engineering improvements, developing manning reduction plans and scrap reduction.
10. Manufacturing Production Line Support (Equipment, quality, efficiency, maintenance, etc.) and technical guidance, including updates to and investigation of control technology issues. 11. Equipment/Product Improvement (Standard Time, Quality, Error Proof) 12. Develop and maintain comprehensive tooling lists, including cost analysis 13. Designs, improves and installs tooling, fixtures and equipment 14. Conducts Motion & Time Studies and provides Routing Maintenance as needed. 15. Evaluates, designs and / or documents OEM and service packaging for product produced in assigned areas 16. WORKING CONDITIONS
This work is performed in a general manufacturing and office environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The incumbent must:
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and one (1) to four (4) years experience in related field
  • or•A Master's Degree and one (1) to three (3) years experience in related field.
  • Certification may be required in some areas.
  • Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
  • Have strong communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
  • Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
  • Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software.
