Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer II Direct Hire Shelbyville, TN 37160 (Hybrid)
Job Description:
Automotive manufacturing engineering role focused on launch support, continuous improvement, production troubleshooting, tooling/equipment support, and manufacturing process optimization within a Tier 1 environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support new product launches and manufacturing process development Develop manufacturing documentation including routings, work instructions, PFMEA/process documentation Support tooling and equipment sourcing/implementation Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on: Scrap reduction Downtime reduction Efficiency improvements Labor/manning optimization Provide day-to-day production line support and troubleshooting Conduct time studies and routing maintenance Support equipment improvements, error proofing, and standardization Assist with run-at-rate activities and manufacturing readiness Coordinate with suppliers on tooling/equipment purchases Support quality and process deviation documentation
Ideal Candidate Background:
Tier 1 automotive supplier experience High-volume manufacturing environments Launch-focused manufacturing engineering experience Hands-on floor support/process engineering background Strong troubleshooting and continuous improvement mindset
Preferred Industry Experience:
Assembly manufacturing Welding/robotics Injection molding Stamping Automated manufacturing environments
Preferred Technical Experience:
APQP PFMEA
Root Cause Analysis Lean Manufacturing Kaizen Continuous Improvement Time Studies Standard Work Run at Rate Error Proofing OEE improvements Scrap reduction Downtime reduction Equipment installation/improvement Tooling support Manufacturing process optimization

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field preferred 1-4 years of manufacturing engineering experience OR Master's Degree with 1-3 years of experience.
