Job Description
Overview BlueWater Federal is seeking a Junior Design Engineer to support clients at Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma, TN. As the Jr Design Engineer, you will support the design and maintenance of IT, networking, communications, security, voice, video, and data systems for the Arnold Engineering Development Complex while following industry best practices. Responsibilities Design and continuously improve the cable plant infrastructure and documentation for the Base Wide Duct System (BWDS), including monthly reporting and auditing of changes. Provide a monthly Fiber Testing Plan and Schedule to inform CORs and the Telecommunications functional area of testing requirements. Support design, systems engineering, and project execution efforts for communications, IT, and related specialties at Arnold Air Force Base. Design, plan, program funding requirements, manage project controls, execute, and support communications and IT projects. Develop Work Plans or Statements of Work (SOWs) to plan, budget, and schedule efforts that exceed the current scope. Qualifications Must have an active Secret clearance. 3+ years of experience supporting communications and information technology infrastructure, including architecture design, planning, solution development, and program or project management. Knowledge of EIA/TIA, BICSI, UFC, and Air Force communications and IT standards. Familiarity with the CIPS Work Planning Process in accordance with Air Force policies, directives, instructions, and technical orders. Working knowledge of Air Force systems such as CVC and CAIRS for configuration management. Understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD) systems engineering approach to project planning.
