Job Description

We are seeking our next Faculty - Advanced Manufacturing who will be all-in on our mission and who provides high-quality, learner-centered instruction in manufacturing technology, including industrial maintenance, electromechanical systems, and fluid power. Instruction may occur in classroom, laboratory, technology-supported, or online environments and emphasizes hands-on training that prepares students for careers in modern industrial settings. The curriculum focuses on foundational manufacturing skills, including safety practices, electrical systems, manufacturing processes, and automation technologies. Teaching responsibilities include delivering instruction and laboratory training in areas such as DC/AC circuits, motor controls, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
EDUCATION
:
Required:
Associate's Degree or higher in Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanical Technology, or a related field. •Relevant industry certifications (e.g., SACA, MSSC, PMMI, FANUC, or specialized electrical/mechanical certifications) and substantial professional experience may substitute for educational requirements.
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE
:
Required:
Three (3) years of recent, industry-related experience in industrial maintenance, electromechanical systems, or manufacturing environments. Experience must directly relate to program curriculum, such as electrical troubleshooting, mechanical systems, or fluid power.
Preferred:
Five (5) years of industry-related experience, including specific expertise in PLC programming, industrial robotics, or automated system design, along with teaching or mentoring experience. Teach Advanced Manufacturing courses each semester using effective, engaging, and safe instructional methods, including: Direct Current (DC) and Alternating Current (AC) Circuits Basic Mechanical Skills and Distribution Systems Industrial Maintenance and Electric Motors Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Motor Controls Machinery Installation and Mechanical Drives Pumps, Compressors, Hydraulics, and Pneumatics Industrial Troubleshooting and Fluid Power Systems Deliver instruction in classroom, laboratory, hybrid, online, and off-campus settings (e.g., Dumas, Hereford, partner high schools, or TDCJ units). Develop and implement lesson plans incorporating hands-on, industry-relevant practices. Prepare syllabi and instructional materials aligned with approved curriculum and course catalog descriptions. Evaluate student learning through exams, projects, and lab assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback. Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, performance, and progress. Participate in curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement processes. Monitor industry trends and recommend program updates to ensure workforce relevance. Select and evaluate instructional materials, tools, and equipment. Advise, mentor, and support students in achieving academic and career goals. Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Participate in faculty development, training, and institutional initiatives. Attend required meetings, orientations, and professional learning activities. Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, safety practices, and emerging technologies. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations in lab and classroom environments. Perform other work-related duties as required. Salary:
Faculty Pay Information , please review the AC AY24 Faculty Salary Placement. (Salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies up to twenty-five (25) pounds as needed. Work may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures in lab or field settings.
Working Conditions:
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary).
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment with routine use of standard office and instructional equipment. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
