Temp-to-Hire A leading metal fabrication facility in Denton is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support, optimize, and streamline production operations. This hands-on role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, developing work instructions and tooling, and working directly on the shop floor alongside operators and management to solve production challenges.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Design and refine manufacturing processes, tooling, jigs, and fixtures. Create and update technical drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD). Support sheet metal operations including laser cutting, CNC machining, bending, forming, welding, and assembly. Develop work instructions, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and process control plans. Troubleshoot production machinery, programming, and manufacturing workflow issues. Identify cost-reduction opportunities, minimize downtime, and improve overall operational efficiency. Assist with prototype development and transition new products into full-scale production. Conduct time studies and build process documentation (PFMEA, process flows). Provide technical direction and support to machine operators, production supervisors, and quality staff.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience:

3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, with strong preference for a background in sheet metal fabrication or heavy industrial manufacturing.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar CAD platforms.

Manufacturing Knowledge:

Experience designing manufacturing tooling and fixtures, as well as working knowledge of CNC equipment, metal forming, and GD&T blueprint interpretation.

Mindset:

A practical, hands-on engineer who thrives being on the production floor actively solving problems rather than sitting behind a desk full-time.

Preferred:

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, PPAP, or dimensional inspection systems (CMM / Romer Arm).
